Carlo S. Manalac, MAPEH teacher, represented Pasay City North High School(PCNHS)-Tramo in the Teachers’ Got Talent(TGT)–division level and won last September 22 at Padre Zamora Elementary School (PZES).

As a part of the National Teachers’ Month celebration with the theme “Gurong Pilipino: Kaakbay sa Progreso.” ,the School Division Office – Pasay (SDO-Pasay) conducted a contest that promotes the skills, talents and to uplift the self-esteem of the teachers.

Mr. Manalac competed with the songs “The Promise by Martin Nievera” and “Ikaw by Eric Santos”. He said, “I was planning to sing Kundiman. But when they told me it’s an open contest, I decided not to join because singing pop songs are not my genre. Since I made a promise to the school that I will join, I push through. Those songs are my favorite,” he added, “singing for me is natural, but still, I felt nervous when I was on stage.”

“I didn’t expect to win. When I won, I was so happy for bringing an honor to our school” He said. The awards were given during the Division World Teachers’ Day last September 27 at Cuneta Astrodome. He received a certificate of recognition and 3,000PHP cash prize. He also performed on the said event with the two other winners. “I only trained for two days because I was already practicing the kundiman song.” he added.

The elimination round started last September 20, 2017 at PZES. Only the top 10 contestants competed to the final round.
