“Despite the fact that the situation is not favorable for us, you are still there, doing your work, for the good of our students,” on his message during Pasay City National High School, Teacher’s day celebration, Public Schools District Supervisor(PSDS) of Cluster 9 Mr. Renato Mesada.
PCNHS celebrated the World Teacher’s Day last October 8, 2021 with Mr. Carlito Abalos Jr., SPA-Focal Person, as the Master of the Ceremonies.
Amidst the pandemic and restricted social gatherings, PCNHS found a way to brighten the day of their hard-working teachers virtually via Google meet.
PCNHS Supreme Student Government (SSG) headed by their adviser Ms. Melissa S. Binayas, paid tribute to teachers through a touching video where the students lead by their SSG officer said “We are praising God because He created you to be a teacher and create impact to our lives.”
One of the essences of the event is to give importance to the contributions of teachers, hence module writers and video broadcasters and awardees were recognized.
Teachers who gave their untiring efforts for more than 10 years already with their loyalty were also recognized, Mr. Yul Benosa (10 years in service in PCNHS), Mrs. Rizalina Tuazon (25 years and Mrs. Cecilia Parras (25 years). They were awarded with a certificate of recognition.
To give honor the hardwork of the two retirees, Mr. Domingo Moscoso and Mrs. Ma. Mercedes Bibat their PCNHS family prepare a video presentation and heart felt messages from the friends and family they acquired from the years of their service.
To maintain the lively atmosphere, there were games and e-raffles for the teachers to enjoy, such as ‘Meme mo, Mukha Mo!’, ‘BBM: Bugtong Bring Me’, ‘Bawal ang Tamang Sagot’, and ‘Arte mo, Kanta ko’.
Some also submitted their creative entrees impersonating the characters in the two famous teleseryes ‘Encantadia’ and ‘Ang Probinsyano’.
Concluding the program, Ms. Vivian R. Ubao, PEA President, showed her great appreciation to all the people who participated and made the event successful, giving emphasis on thanking the two retirees on sharing their unending love and hard work for the past years. She then thanked OIC-Principal Mrs. Grace Torres and the department heads for supporting the celebration.
Even if the flexibility of our education system is being challenged during these times of struggle, teachers serve as the soldiers we can rely on. That even for just a day, they deserve to lighten that up.
